Cindy Crawford

Cynthia Ann Crawford, born on February 20, 1966, is an American actress, model and television personality. She was a supermodel and an iconic model on magazine covers as well as runways and fashion shows in the 1980s and 1990s. Her career later expanded to acting and business ventures. When she was in her sophomore year at high school, she received a call from a local retailer for modeling jobs but was later informed that it was a prank played by two of her classmates. Crawford was hired by another retailer the following year to be a model for them. They also held a fashion shoot. Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford during her junior year to photograph her. The project included the shooting of Crawford to be published in the magazine. Crawford was inspired to pursue modeling by the favorable feedback and photos she received. At first, she worked at a small agency. Elite Model Management sold the agency shortly after signing. In 1983, she participated in Elite's Look of the Year contest at age 17 and won the national finals.
